Our Mission Statement

The Croatian Archive Association of Australia (Archive) was founded in 2005 with the aim of collecting and preserving the historical records of the Croatian community in Australia.

The Archive collects and maintains, in physical and digital form, the following original items that specifically pertain to the activities of the Croatian community throughout Australia:

  • Records and documents
  • Papers
  • Reports
  • Books
  • Newspapers, magazines, and periodicals
  • Letters and notes
  • Diaries
  • Pamphlets, posters, and brochures
  • Audio recordings
  • Film and video
  • Photographs
  • Selected small artefacts

As well as maintaining physical objects to the highest standards of archival management, the Archive will digitise its collection and publish selected items on its website.

The Archive will be made available to any interested parties including academics, researchers and students who are studying the Croatian community and its activities in Australia in a historical context.
